The Sahtu’s smaller communities , health systems struggle with chronic staffing shortages and the difficulty of retaining skilled professionals in remote areas. Rising costs and administrative burdens strain the delivery of timely , high quality health care.

Education

Sahtu indigenous students face systemic barriers rooted in colonial legacies, including limited access to culturally grounded education and consistent support services.

Food & Housing Security

Sahtu resident’s struggle with the high transportation and skilled professional labour that affects housing and food costs. Food subsidies and housing programs poorly managed has driven up costs.
